Ashton: So, yeah, y’know what? I am all for faith. And I’m not gonna pick a god. They can pick me.

Ashton: It’ll be the first one that actually prays to me, and then maybe I’ll fucking answer.

Ashton: I’ll wait. They can fucking beg.

Ashton: And I will listen, which is more than they ever fucking did.

I’ve had a life. I think a lot of us here have had a life. And I can count the really good days practically on two hands.

Gifset of Episode 2 of Candela Obscura. Robbie, narrating Howard’s actions: Howard comes to, looks about. Doesn’t say a word to any of his friends.

Robbie: He pulls his little kit out of his jacket. It’s his laboratory equipment. He sets it on his lap.

Robbie: And he removes a scalpel, and he removes his hat.

Robbie: And he makes a small incision in the top of his own head, about three inches or so wide. Parts it with his fingers.

Robbie: Sets it back down. He pulls out a small handsaw with a crank, like a drill. It’s got a circular drill bit in it.

Robbie: He puts it on the top of his skull, and just begins to crank. And crank. And crank.

Robbie: You sort of smell that powder, that earthy powder of bone mixed with blood.

Robbie: And then you just hear a (pop) and a tiny piece of his skull comes out. He puts it inside of his surgery equipment.

Robbie: Blinks his eye. Squeezes his skin back together. It’s bleeding pretty good. Puts his hat back on, and says…

Howard: Ah, well. Sometimes you just have to expand your mind.

An ancient cultural tradition. It’s been around for millennia. I never thought I’d try it myself, but it just… it was in the moment!

Taliesin: "But yeah, he's just not okay. It's a very, very unhealthy wake up and not a fun wake up. It is that like, 'Well, I guess I'm back.'"

Ashley: "I will say, I love that you are playing someone and representing a character with chronic pain."

Taliesin: "Thank you. Part of it is having some chronic pain, which definitely..." Off-screen, Ashley: "Oh yeah." Taliesin: "Which, you all know about that, but—"

Ashley: "Yeah." Off-screen, Taliesin: "It's not fun." Ashley: "No." Taliesin: "I know people who have it worse, but, yeah."

Taliesin: "It is definitely... And it also helps with the, 'Why are you so angry?" Like, 'Oh, here's a really good reason.'"

[DANI]: Ashton means a lot to me, personally, based on my own chronic illness struggles and my own chronic pain struggles. And so it’s been very emotional to see that represented in you, and I know how incredible it is for you to have this catharsis as well to get to play him. And it means a lot to me to be able to see their journey.
